Accolades and congratulatory messages for the Oscar winner musician A.R. Rahman has been pouring ever since the award was announced. And as expected, the Tamil film fraternity has announced a grand function to felicitate Rahman. The Producers’ Council President Rama Narayanan said that the actors, director and producers will join hands in felicitating him.

In a joint statement made by Sarath Kumar, the

President of the Nadigar Sangam and Radha Ravi, the Secretary, said that the Rahman has done India proud with his achievement.

Vairamuthu recalled the lyrics that he had penned for the song Chinna Chinna Asai in Roja, which goes like “Ennai intha bhoomi sutri vara asai.” The lyricist said that the world has indeed begun to rotate around Rahman.Incidentally, Roja was Rahman's debut venture.

Actor-director Parthiban celebrated the occasion by cutting a cake in front of Rahman’s house in Kodambakkam.

Prabhu in his message has lauded Rahman for winning the Oscar and said he was happy that Rahman spoke in Tamil on stage after receiving the award.
