Mani Ratnam on Rahman
February 23, 2009

"Rahman has always been special. I am very happy that his hard work is being recognized at the highest level. Personally, I am very proud of him."

On chances of Indian movies making to the Oscars, the director said: "Slumdog Millionaire is a British movie. Hopefully a complete Indian movie will also make it to the Oscars. But for now, lets celebrate Rahman's success"

On whether he himself was trying for an Oscar, Mani said an emphatic "NO!"
