While
a few Padma awards were distributed on March
31st, the second phase was on at the Ashoka
Hall in Rashtrapati Bhavan on April 7th, 2010.
Noted musician Ilaiyaraja was honored with the
Padma Bhushan award. Clad in his usual white,
the maestro walked up to receive his award from
the President of India, Pratibha Patil.
Also present at the venue were Vice-President
Hamid Ansari and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan received his Padma
Shri at this function. |
