as a super hit. Dhanush, Boopathy Pandiyan
and the crewmembers are on cloud nine
these days, thanks to the blockbuster
status of the movie. Dhanush, on the other
hand has two reasons to rejoice though.

The response for the movie from the day one itself
was amazing and the word-of-mouth phenomenon seemed
to have worked wonders for the movie. Positive feedback

that has all the elements to exert a pull on the crowd.
Comedy seems to be a piece of cake for Dhanush who
had done his part well in the movie without any image

Theatre analysis suggests that the
movie is picking up in fast pace and many
halls in and around the city have increased
the number of shows to cash in on the status.

the halls as well, which clearly indicates
the performance of the movie. Due to the pressure
from distributors, the producers have increased
the number of prints for the movie.
Albert theatre has increased the movie’s
screening to 3 shows from its earlier 1 show
sacrificing the shows of Chennai Kaadal. Kasi
theatre has increased the screening to 3 shows
and the movie has been inducted in theatres
such as Sri Brinda and Aradhana to three and
two shows respectively. And in outskirts the
movie has been screened in Tiruthani and Madhurandhagam
of Chengelpet district. Sources reveal that
the film is slated to be released in some
more theatres.
The movie reports packed houses even during weekdays
and there were no breaking shows reported. It is also
noted that tickets are sold in an exorbitant rate
in black market during weekends.
Celebrity’s disappointment
Director Vasanthabalan, who visited Sai Santhi on
Christmas day, felt the heat when he was turned down
since the tickets were sold out. However, the theatre
authorities came to his rescue and let him in.
Emerging
super hit
On the whole, Thiruvilayadal is emerging as
a super hit and it is highly likely that the
movie will continue to reign the cinema halls
setting the cash registers ringing until the
end of the festival season. With no other big
movies set to release in the near future before
Pongal, Thiruvilayadal is sure to stay here
for some more time.

This film has proved to be a saviour for Dhanush
who needed this hit desperately. He was almost
written off from the tinsel world with his earlier
