The movie witnessed a bumper
opening all over the state,
that of equivalent to any Vijay
or Ajith’s movie and surprised
trade pundits. Thanks to the
brand name Shankar and Vadivelu’s
pulling power.
The movie is now entering the
second week of running and it
is reported that it is still
running to packed houses in
many theatre in and around Chennai.

the outskirts of Chennai, screened

were many who were returned without
getting tickets at Devi complex. The
black ticket rate was Rs.150/- here
against the original price of Rs.50/-.
On weekdays also the show was full
in advance booking and it was hard
to get ticket on 17th July, Monday
evening.
Similar scenes prevailed in Rohini
complex and other suburban theatres
like Thiruvanmiyur Theagaraja. Kamala
theatre witnessed a heavy crowd after

echo in Telugu desam
Just as the Tamil public
likes charades on its politicians,
Telugu fans are equally quick
to lap up such fare. After all,
politicians as a race are just
the same everywhere. Therefore,
enthused by Imsai Arasan’s
show, producers in Telugu are
keen to buy the language rights
for the film. It is to be seen
whether it would be dubbed or
have a new version. Again, director
Shankar who produced the film
is savvy enough to understand
the economics of dubbed Tamil
films. |

as Tenaliraman?
Meanwhile,
there are attempts to rope in Vadivelu
