‘Kadhal Kondaen’ and did
not have time to look back afterwards.
She appears to be of the ‘slow
and steady’ clan demonstrating
her abilities with her string of hits.

The
petite and pensive Sonia Agarwal
now seems to be in a sabbatical
with no film announcements in
the recent past save for her
flicker of a role in latest
home production (well, if we
can say that) ‘Pudupettai’.
We recently caught up with her
when she was in a hurry to fly
to Chandigarh where she originates.
She greets us with her trademark
‘quite a cheekful’
smile and questions us if her
latest hairstyle is a happening
one. We solaced her by nodding
a yes.

Is
she on a sabbatical? Why are
there not any recent announcements
of her movies? Well she says
she worked quite hard in the
past few years and really needs
a break. Meaning? Yes folks
you guessed it right, we don’t
get to see her in movies, well
at least for quite few months
to come.
Why did she do a cameo role
in Pudupettai? Was it because
of Selva’s insistence
that she be an inevitable part
in all his movies? She refuses.
She was booked in that movie
a couple of years ago and says
she will always be happy to
be a part of Selva’s movies
for they will never fail to
get public attention. True,
isn’t it?

Rumours
are abuzz that she is tying
the knot with her heartthrob
‘Selva’ this October
and even her to be father-in-law
nodded consent for that. What
did she have to say? She was
quick to reply with a ‘no’.
She says she is not ready for
the marriage and has to take
her own time with her beau to
discuss her marriage plans.
Interestingly enough, she also
said that her parents are blissfully
unaware of what is happening
in Tamil films and her life
in Tamil cinema since they are
in Chandigarh. Does that mean
she predicts a riot from her
parents in her marriage decision?

On
a question about her skin show in
Thiruttu Payalae, she said she got
mixed responses for that role from
her fans. She claims that her fans
do not want her to be raunchy in costumes
that reveal. Well opinion differs,
what say?
We all have eyes for her sabbatical
to finish and her soon return to the
movies and of course her marriage
with her celebrity boyfriend Selva
aka ‘Selvaraghavan’. On
that note we let her off to Chandigarh
wishing her a happy journey and letting
