Vellore corporation commissioner held for taking bribe from contractor

Vellore Corruption Commissioner T Kumar has been reportedly detained by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption on Wednesday for allegedly taking a bribe. According to reports, Kumar bargained Rs 20,000 from a local body contractor T Balaji to carry out a mass cleaning work under dengue eradication programme in April, May and June last year. Anti-corruption squad arrested Kumar after the contractor filed a complaint to the Vellore unit of the DVAC.
