The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by PM Modi, on Thursday reportedly approved doubling of tracks of three railway lines and their electrification in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The approved projects include the construction of an electrified second line between Vanchi-Manniyachchi-Nagercoil via Tirunelveli, Madurai-Vanchi and Maniyachchi-Tuticorin, and Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala and Kanyakumari.
