The Madras high court on Wednesday allowed the students to claim their respective amounts from Rs 85 crore deposited by founder and chancellor of SRM University Pachamuthu in the trial court. HC also directed the Central Crime Branch (CCB) to continue the investigation and file a final report within eight weeks. The scam came to light when 136 parents and students filled a complaint against Madhan and his associate Sudhir who received over Rs 85 crore for MBBS, MS and MD admissions in SRM institutions.
