In what looks like a significant effort, TN farmers protesting in New Delhi have sent a memorandum of demand to the new President of India, asking for permission to meet Modi or to permit them to commit suicide. TN farmers have been fighting in New Delhi for more than six months. They held various protests in vain to meet the PM to discuss their demands. “Please give us appointment to meet the president and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss our matter. Otherwise give us permission to commit suicide” read the letter written by Ayyakannu, according to media reports.
