Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Wednesday has reportedly announced a pay hike for the state assembly legislators, effective from July 1. The salary has reportedly been increased from Rs 55,000 to Rs 1.05 lakh, which is nearly double the previous amount. Further, former legislators’ pension has been increased from Rs 12,000 to Rs 20,000. Moreover, the fund for development of constitution has been increased from Rs 2 crore to Rs 2.50 crore.
