An RTI application has reportedly revealed a scam in the Central Railway's catering department. According to reports, the catering department has purchased food items at several times the maximum retail price. The RTI response has revealed that 100gm of Amul curd was purchased at Rs 9,72 instead of its then MRP Rs 25. Other items procured over MRP include refined oil, Tata salt and water bottles. The Central Railways had sooner discredited the RTI reply. More details are awaited.
