India played their longest innings at home in 56 years

Team India registered their longest innings at home in 56 years on Sunday during the 3rd Test at Ranchi. India completed 210 overs in their first innings and scored 603/9d. India's longest ever innings was of 241.5 overs, against New Zealand in 1955.  The record came up with the help of Cheteshwar Pujara who scored his third double ton and become the first Indian to face 500 balls in an innings.
