Man orders 166 phones and dupes Amazon of Rs 50 lakh

A 21-year-old man in Delhi was reportedly arrested for duping online marketplace Amazon of nearly Rs 50 lakh on fake claims between April and May in 2017. Shivam Chopra, a graduate from a hotel management institute, ordered 166 expensive mobile phones from Amazon and got refunds by claiming that he received an empty box, say reports. Another 38-year-old Sachin Jain was arrested for supplying Shivam with more than 141 pre-activated SIM cards. Police reportedly seized 19 mobile phones, 12 lakhs in cash and 40 bank passbooks and cheques from Shivam.
