Kerala state government reportedly announced holiday for educational institutes on Monday as heavy rains continued to batter on Sunday causing widespread damage, landslip and waterlogging in various parts of the state. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan reportedly said that the district collectors and other officials have been put on alert and directed to take necessary precautionary steps to meet any eventuality.
