Centre raises OBC creamy layer ceiling to Rs 8 lakh from Rs 6 lakh

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Wednesday reportedly announced that the creamy layer ceiling for the Other Backward Classes has been raised to Rs 8 lakh per annum from the existing Rs 6 lakh for central government jobs. Now, reservation benefits will be available to those in the OBC category earning up to Rs 8 lakh per annum.
