The Election Commission’s notice has reportedly been given to AIADMK chief Sasikala at the prison in Bengaluru. According to reports, the electoral body, in the notice, had sought explanation from Sasikala over her appointment as the AIADMK general secretary. Notably, O Panneerselvam’s faction had earlier filed a petition to EC challenging Sasikala's appointment.
