ECB announces new eight-team T20 competition from 2020

The ECB on Thursday announced that a new eight-team T20 tournament would be inaugurated in 2020. This comes after 38 out of 41 members of the England and Wales Cricket Board voted in favour of the competition, which will include 36 matches in 38 days with squads of 15 players, three of which can be from overseas. However, the ECB also asserted that the new tournament would not spell the end of the existing Natwest T20 Blast tournament.
