Tamil Nadu State Health Minister C Vijaya Baskar has reportedly asked the people not to believe and spread rumours about plastic rice. According to reports, Vijaya Baskar also added that food safety officers had collected hundreds of samples of rice and tested them at laboratories, but there was no evidence for plastic rice.
