The North China Institute of Vehicle Research has reportedly built an armoured fighting vehicle that can travel up to 50 kilometres per hour on calm waters. Notably, the fastest speed for an amphibious vehicle outside of China is 9 kilometres per hour. Compact pump jets and retracting wheels are said to be the reason behind the high speed of the vehicle.
