It is no strange fact that movie stars have a large fan following. Their lives are avidly watched by the common people. They have a great sway over the sentiments of the people. That is why every gesture or uttering by film stars creates huge ripples in the society. This is nothing new to Indian cinema. We have watched legendary film personalities mesmerizing us with their performances. Recently, Hansa Research, a poll outfit, conducted a survey to determine the most popular Indian. Nearly 200 Indians were listed in the choice. The poll, which interviewed people in the age group of 15 to 50 covered major cities and small towns. The most revealing result is that amongst the top ten in the final countdown, 6 are from film industry. Leading the pack is no doubt, the Big B, Amitabh Bachan. Placed second is Sachin Tendulkar followed by Shah Rukh Khan, Amir Khan and Kapil Dev.
