Yaa Yaa
Singers: Abhay Jodhpurkar, Chitra, Anjana Soumya, Sai Shivani
Lyrics: Rama Jogayya Sastry

The most anticipated album of Summer starts with a folk prelude but immediately leads to a modern Jazz number sung brilliantly by Abhay Jodhpukar and Chitra. The song sets the perfect mood for a village backdrop with modern sounding. Rama Jogayya Sastry’s beautiful lyrics speak about the daily activities of rustic life and the peaceful impact it creates. The classical touch given by Chitra’s lower octave vocals is another highlight.

Rang De
Singers: Ramya Behara, Sai Shivani, Rahul Nambiar
Lyrics: Rama Jogayya Sastry

The versatile flavor sustains in confidence with a breezy number rendered flawlessly by Ramya Behara. The feel good bass work coupled with mild treble and neat guitar strings are quite appealing to hear. Rama Jogayya Sastry’s poetic and colorful lyrics add much feel to this interesting number. To make things more interesting, the lyrics also touch a philosophical outlook on life. However, the song has striking resemblance to Aaraduguluntada from Seethamma Vakilto Sirimalle Chettu which had music from Mickey.

Anasuya Kosam
Singers: Karthik Rap: Roll Rida
Lyrics: Krishna Chaitanya

The album takes a funky turn with a typical conversational number from the sweet voice of Karthik. The song slowly gathers pace imbibing curiosity and gradual interest.  The bass guitar and Jazzy lyrics by Krishna Chaitanya is perhaps the biggest highlight of this number. Roll Rida’s trendy Rap lyrics balance the contemporary feel of the composition.

Mummy Returns
Singer: Shravana Bhargavi
Lyrics: Rama Jogayya Sastry

The funkiest singer Shravana Bhargavi comes forward with a hilarious composition with Hard Rock style guitar and singing. The credit goes for Rama Jogayya Sastry who penned mesmerizing lyrics for a unique situation where the female lead curses her mother!  The song is like a musical monologue or a personal diary which explains the quirks of a young girl.

Yellipoke Syamala
Singer: Karthik
Lyrics: Rama Jogayya Sastry

The finale arrives in folksy style with Karthik’s impressive rendition which is away from his usual genre. The orchestration is minimal with local percussions and mild keyboard strokes. Rama Jogayya Sastry’s lyrics are rustic to the core and bring back the forgotten indigenous flavors of Telugu lands. The song delicately touches the marvelous Hindustani Raag Jog which is a treat to hear.

Verdict: A Aa is a whiff of fresh air from Mickey J Meyer in the midst of heavy duty albums. Gear up for a relaxing and breezy album with great lyric support!
