Fond memories about Superstar Rajini dominate the proceedings - Event Story

Vijay Sethupathy’s new movie Pannaiyarum Padminiyum was unveiled today at the Le Royal Meridian hotel in Chennai. Kalaipuli Dhanu, R.V. Udhayakumar and P.L. Thenappan were the chief guests. The director S.U. Arun Kumar and Vijay Sethupathy were also present at the event.

A Premier Padmini car was imaginatively positioned on the dais in sync with the movie’s theme which is about this car.

At the event, Dhanu reminisced that he was reminded of Superstar Rajini’s first car, which he still maintains with affection. Actor Sivakumar also had purchased this car in his early days, the producer said.

R.V. Udhayakumar said that in Coimbatore the rich and well-to-do mostly used to purchase a Premier Padmini as their first car. Such was the prestige associated with this vehicle.

P.L. Thenappan told that he recollected Superstar’s Padikaadhavan in which Rajini played a taxi driver who earnestly drives around a Padmini by the pet name Lakshmi.

Man of the moment, Vijay Sethupathy said that he never felt even a single negative vibe while listening to the story narration and that he immediately agreed to partake in the movie. Director Arun Kumar fondly recollected that Vijay accommodated this movie despite his busy schedules and thanked the actor for the same.

It must be noted that Arun Kumar had directed a short film by the same name and theme and now it is being made into a full-length feature film with the hopes of a bigger reach and reception. We wish this crew all the best on their ambitious venture.
