Vetri Maaran on acquiring the rights of CS Chelappa's Vaadivaasal

Director Vetri Maaran’s much lauded and award winning Visaaranai was adapted from Chandrakumar’s Lock-Up and some time ago, the Aadukalam director had also acquired the rights of Kota Neelima’s Shoes Of The Dead which is about farmer’s suicide.

 

Now, Vetri Maaran has bought the filming rights of Vaadivaasal written by C S Chellappa who was grouped under Manikodi writers in Tamil. His novel Vaadivaasal is about jallikattu which is the current hot topic in town.

 

When we contacted Vetri Maaran to find out about the details, he stated, “Yes, I have acquired the rights of Vaadivaasal. I wanted to start work on it a year ago. But I am waiting to finish my present commitments before I start it”.

 

As regards his Vada Chennai, Vetri Maaran had recently tweeted that the second schedule of the film will begin in the first week of March.
