The statue is said to be gifted by Thalapathy fans from Mangalore in Karnataka.
As fans garlanded the statue, one can also see that it had Vijay sporting an uber-cool look and wearing coolers. The General Secretary of Vijay Makkal Iyakkam Bussy Anand initiated the statue along with other workers.
Vijay continues to enjoy a massive fan base across India - both online and offline - with his fans always taking one step forward in expressing their love for the 'Master' actor.
Meanwhile, Vijay is busy shooting for his next movie 'Beast' with director Nelson Dilipkumar in Chennai. Sun Pictures has bankrolled the film and Anirudh has composed the background score for the action film.
