One of the highly anticipated films of 2019, the Atlee-directed Bigil, starring Vijay and Nayanthara had recently launched its first look on 21st June, which featured the father and son characters enacted by the film's male lead, in a single frame. The second look that released on the lead actor's birthday (22nd June) has certainly amped up the expectations.

The second look poster breakdown of Vijay's Bigil is here

The second look poster is reminds us of the director's second film, Theri, in which one of the posters features three different makeovers of Vijay in a single frame. The film had also throws light on the name of the son character, which is revealed through the jersey that is worn by the role. Perhaps Bigil will be the character's nickname in the film (like how Vetrimaaran from Mersal is also known as Thalapathy). The film ties the four distinctive looks of  Vijay in a single poster.

It is also interesting to note that the number 5 is emphasized in this poster. We can see the distinctive looks as a depiction of the protagonists' appearance at different timelines of the film. The slightly young-looking Vijay in the left, with a football in his hand is countered by the actor's rustic, lungi clad makeover at the top with a cycle chain in hand. The elder character, with his salt-and-pepper hairdo and black shirted attire shown in the poster is reminiscent of Rajinikanth's look in Kaala.

The film's poster design contains a paragraph embedded to it. The sentence talks about the emotion of pride, and in the paragraph, a line also refers to sportsmanship and coach, which gives a confirmation of sorts that the film indeed deals with the journey of a sports coach. Apart from the number and the name, the jersey is printed with a phrase that says 'Mission of Honour'.

The stark shades of red, with a tinge of green is used in the posters. Overal, Bigil's second look is a visually stunning work that is masterfully executed by Gopi Prasanna and team.
