2018 saw a popular movement, #MeToo which brought out many women from the entertainment sphere as well. There were allegations pointed down against many celebrities like actors, producers, lyricists, singers and many more. The movement was actually started with the sole intention of seeing a world free of sexual violence.
Bollywood actress, Tanushree Dutta had started the movement and last year she had accused popular actor, Nana Patekar in the sexual harassment case. She had claimed that the actor had assaulted her in 2008 on the sets of Rakesh Sarang's Horn Ok Pleassss.
Yesterday, popular news agency had reported that the Mumbai Police closed the sexual misconduct case against Nana Patekar due to lack of evidence. The police filed a 'B Summary' report in the case. A 'B summary' report is filed when police cannot find evidence in support of the complaint and are unable to continue the investigation.
Reacting to Nana Patekar's clean chit, Tanushree Dutta, who currently lives in the US, reportedly issued a statement which read, “A corrupt police force & legal system giving a clean chit to an even more corrupt person Nana who has been accused even in the past of bullying, intimidation and harassment by several women in the film Industry.”
