‘Uriyadi 2’, directed by Vijay Kumar is a sequel to the 2016 film ‘Uriyadi’. The film was highly talked about, as it was a raw take on caste and politics. ‘Uriyadi 2’ is also touted to be on the same cards, and with the teaser releasing today (23rd March), a glimpse of what’s in-store has been shown to the audience.
During the music and teaser launch event of the movie, producer Suriya opened about his experience on producing this movie and appreciated the cast and crew for their effort. Suriya said “A lot of effort goes to Vijay, for making Uriyadi. Even Behindwoods had made a post saying how they were promoting Uriyadi, as it had good content.”
“A lot of effort goes to Vijay and his team for making Uriyadi 2 happen. I don’t like to interfere and criticise the technicians, and I didn’t interfere in this movie too. I am very happy that 2D and Suriya got to be a part of this movie.”
Speaking about the movie, Suriya said “Uriyadi 2 will not entertain you. It will disturb you. It will make you think. Cinema is a form of storytelling. But when something real is expressed through cinema, I believe it has a long life to it. This is what Uriyadi 2 is about. It will definitely induce thoughts within the audience.”
He also appreciated the music director Govind Vasantha and expressed that 2D’s collaboration with Govind will definitely continue in the future. ‘Uriyadi 2’, stars Vijay Kumar, Sudhakar and Vismaya in lead roles. It has cinematography by Praveen Kumar, while Linu M has handled the cuts. The movie is said to have a release on April 5th, and an official confirmation on the same is awaited.
