The car which she was driving, lost control and crashed into the railing and fell into a roadside pit. While one of her friends, Valli Chetty Bhavani was dead on the spot, the other three were rushed to a private hospital in Chennai.

Earlier, Yashika's sister Osheen Aannand said that she is in the ICU at a private hospital in Chennai and and further surgeries of her multiple fractures will be done in a few days. "Please keep praying for her," she said, taking to her Instagram stories. Now, she has come up with another update which has come as a relief for her fans. Osheen noted that Yashika is "conscious" and the surgeries of her multiple fractures are being done. "We are thankful for your prayers and hope that you keep praying for her and her recovery as few days can be a critical stage for her," she wrote.

As Yashika was on the wheel when the accident occured, a case has reportedly been filed in three sections against the actress, including section 304 A of 'IPC (causing death by negligence). Police have also confiscated her license.
