The controversies surrounding Sarkar has not affected the film's box office performance in any way and the Vijay starrer is running with packed houses.
 

Rhevanth Charan, the Executive Director of Rohini Silver Screens, shared his delight about the film's box office records, through his tweet. He tweeted, "Undisputed King of  BOX OFFICE ! Records created within 4 days of release and has surpassed "almost" EVERY movie that released in the last couple of years . #Sarkar #Mersal remains the highest grosser till date."
