V.B. Chandrasekhar, former Indian and Tamil Nadu cricketer died in Chennai on 15th August, Thusday. The former Tamil Nadu opener was aged 57.

V.B. Chandrasekhar was part of the Ranji Trophy-winning Tamil Nadu team during the years 1987-88. The batsman had also played seven one-day international matches in his international career. The actor's demise was mourned by many cricketers and his former colleagues, with tweets expressing their condolences across social media.

Actor, former radio jockey and sports commentator RJ Balaji offered his condolences to the deceased. The actor had posted a tweet in his official Twitter account expressing his shock over the untimely death of the cricketer.

V.B. Chandrasekhar was also the cricket manager of the Indian Premier League franchise Chennai Super Kings. He had also served as a coach of the Tamil Nadu cricket team from 2012 to 2013, and is a noted commentator
