Rajini's Baasha still photographer national chelliah passes away

Notable still photographer National Chelliah passed away today (26/11/2016) in Chennai.
Born in Karaikudi, he started his career as a still photographer at AVM in 1950 and then joined as an assistant still photographer with PK Natarajan for Sivaji's Parasakthi.

 

His first movie as a still photographer was Missiamma directed by LV Prasad in 1955 and has worked for more than 600 films with many popular directors including SP Muthuraman, K Balachander, Rama Narayanan, Visu and with actors Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth, and Sivakumar. His notable films are Sindhu Bhairavi, Pudhu Pudhu Arthangal, Panakkaran, Velaikaran, Mullum Malarum to name a few. He has also been the president of the Still photographers association for the period between 1980 and 1990.

 

The funeral will happen today at around 4 PM in Chennai. We convey our deepest condolences to Chelliah’s family.
