Oviya is an Indian tamil actress who became quite a household name after her stint in the first season of the reality show Bigg Boss Season 1. Though she exit the show in between, the actress became one of the most popular contestants, garnering people support and love which formed the well-known Oviya Army.

Oviya's first movie is not Kalavani but Naalai Namadhe

Incidentally, Oviya's film debut was actually in malayalam, with Prithviraj's Kangaroo. But in Tamil, it was Kalavani that brought her big break, and her first film as a heroine. But incidentally, Kalavani was not Oviya's debut in Tamil.

Directed by Vinayan, Nalai Namadhe is the debut movie of Oviya which features newcomer Pradeep, Sharwanand, and Sanusha in the lead roles, with Manivannan, Karthika Mathew, Ashish Vidyarthi and Rajan P. Dev, Tanikella Bharani, Kiran Rathod, M. S. Bhaskar, and Charle playing supporting roles.

The film, produced by Jose Mavely, had musical score by Ramani Bharadwaj and was released on 10 April 2009. Incidentally, Kalavani was released in 2010. In the movie, Oviya played the role of the antagonist's daughter.
