Since Lok Sabha elections of 2019 are nearing, the Election commission has made sure that no sort of bribe or gifts are distributed by politicians to lure people into voting for them. Recently actress Namitha went through some rigorous checking at a checkpoint during one of her road trips that created muzh buzz.
Explaining this a statement has been issued by Namitha’s husband explaining what had happened. Namitha has travelled with her husband to Yercaud via Salem for a shoot and near the Salem-Yercaud junction, someone from Election Commission had stopped the car and was rude to them. He even asked them to open the back door of the car in spite of telling that Namitha is sleeping there and he could wake her up if needed, the officer had opened the door which made Namitha almost fall out of the car.
After apologising for this, the officer had continued to check the car as if he was suspecting them for sneaking illegal substances. Then he had asked to check all of their bags. When Namitha was asked to open her bag, she denied and said she would only open and show it to a female cop as there were intimate things in her bag.
“That was the only matter!! Its Every Woman's right to ask for a FEMALE COP if she's uncomfortable”, he said. He says she had rasie her voice and asked for her right and ask for a female cop's presence when she is uncomfortable. He also said if it were to happen to a normal citizen, this wouldn’t have been an issue but since it is a celebrity, a mountain has been made from a mole. He also urged everyone to not take it wrong but said he hopes every woman of our country learns from this.
