Mammootty’s much anticipated movie ‘Mamangam’ is all set to release on December 12 after postponing its initial release on November 21. Now, ‘Shylock’ which was scheduled as a Christmas release has also shifted its release, making way for success of ‘Mamangam’. The movie will hit screens on January 23, 2020.

Mammoottys Shylocks to release on January next year

Joby George, producer of the movie informed about the new release date via Facebook and Instagram. According to him, the works of ‘Shylock’ is over and was ready to be released on December 20th. But, he said his team is making way for Mamangam, which had to postpone its release due to the pending post production works.

Mamangam is directed by Padmakumar and it is a period drama set against the backdrop of a  religious festival held once every 12 years at Thirunavaya, on the banks of Bharatapuzha in Kerala. The cast includes Mammootty, Unni Mukundan, Achuthan, Sidhique, Manikkuttan, Manikandan Achary, Tarun Arora, Prachi Tehlan, Kaniha, Anu Sithara, Iniya and others in prominent roles.

Shylock is directed by Ajai Vasudev who had earlier directed Mammootty in ‘Masterpiece’ and ‘Rajadhiraja’. Mammootty plays the role of a miser who lends money. The movie is also releasing in tamil and is named 'Kuberan'. Tamil actor Raj Kiran also plays an important role in the movie. Meena is the female lead of the movie. The movie is produced by Joby George under Goodwill Productions.
