India will be entering its third phase of lockdown from tomorrow, May 3. But the Government has issued orders for certain specific businesses to re-open under strict rules. Now, FEFSI has appealed to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister to issue orders to allow processes other than movie shoots in the film industry too.

In their statement, they have mentioned that the film industry had taken precautions to stop all their processes well before the lockdown was announced and that they will soon be nearing 50 days of unemployment. Hence, in order to stabilize the situation of the lives of their members, the FEFSI has requested permission to conduct recordings, re-recordings, dubbings, post-production works, and the like.

Moreover, they have also remarked that if this permission will be granted, more than 40-50% of the workers will be relieved from their poverty caused due to lockdown. Also, the association has also promised that all these activities will be done strictly adhering to the precautionary activities as regulated by the Government.
