Editor Bhuvan Srinivasan talks about his work in Irumugan

Editor Bhuvan Srinivasan is getting noticed for his work in films like Arima Nambi, Demonte Colony and Kanithan. He is also editing Vikram’s Iru Mugan and got a lot of plaudits for his work in the recently released teaser of the film.

Today (27th April), the young and the talented Bhuvan celebrates his birthday. On this happy occasion, we catch up with him.

“Irumugan is about 50-55% complete. Shoot of one character, the bearded Vikram’s portions, are done with and we we have begun the other character’s shoot now. Simultaneously editing is going on and I have already completed what is shot.

Teaser and trailer are usually done when the film is nearing completion. But in this case, we realized that there was already a buzz with the first look poster. So we wanted to have a teaser too. Initially we thought of releasing it on the 14th of April but since Theri was releasing and also as Vikram sir’s birthday was close-by, we decided to use the opportunity to cut the teaser and release on 17th April.

Vikram saw my work in the teaser and was very happy with it. He called his family also to show the teaser.

I am very comfortable working with director Anand Shankar as both of us understand each other. Our rapport levels are high as we perfectly understand each other’s requirements.

Recently the unit shot in EVP, Chennai and now they will be in Kashmir for around 10-12 days. After this, the team will shoot for around two weeks in Bangkok. We expect the shoot to go on till the 2nd week of June and the team plans to release the film around September”.

Have a very happy birthday Bhuvan! Here is wishing you the best!
