DOCTORS EXPLAIN WHAT HAPPENED TO CHIRANJEEVI SARJA; SWAB SENT FOR CORONA TESTING AS WELL

According to the hospital authorities, the actor was brought to its Jayanagar unit in an unresponsive state around 2.20 pm on Sunday and was immediately shifted to the emergency room for treatment.

“On examination, he was found unresponsive with absent carotid pulse, cold peripheries and bilateral dilated pupils. Hence, Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) was started according to the latest Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) protocol. Resuscitation was continued till 3.48 pm. During this time, intravenous medications, inotropes and advanced airway was used, pulse was achieved three times (ROSC), later continued to be asystolic. He was declared dead at 3.48 pm,” Dr Yatheesh Govindaiah, Unit Head of Apollo Hospitals, Jayanagar, said. His swab, as per mandatory procedure, has been sent for testing for Coronavirus as well.

Chiranjeevi is said to be cremated today. We once again lend our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
