'Thalaivi' actress Kangana Ranaut and Madhavan, who worked together in 'Tanu Weds Manu' (2011) and 'Tanu Weds Manu: Returns' (2015), wished him on his special day on their respective Instagram stories.
Actor Dhanush too took to Twitter to wish the 'Raanjhanaa' (2013) director. He said, "Happiest birthday mere bhai @aanandlrai.. continue painting magic on screen and off screen. Love you," and added a couple of hugging emojis.

Earlier, Aanand L Rai was all in praise of Dhanush's 'Karnan' directed by Mari Selvaraj. Calling the film "outstanding and brilliant", he said, "This is how you can describe this experience called #Karnan @mari_selvaraj What a storyteller The way you painted ur thoughts on the celluloid. Take a bow!”. He called Actor Dhanush “a magician.”
On the workfront Dhanush will be seen in Aanand L Rai’s next 'Atrangi Re', which also stars Akshay Kumar and Sara Ali Khan.
