WILL VAALU AND VSOP BREAK THE TREND?

Barring a few exceptions, most films which released during the Independence Day weekend in previous years have not shined as expected. This trend is quite evident while looking at the series of films that have been released in this period, over the past 10 years.

The trend also says that the Independence Day weekend is generally not a hunting ground for big-league superstars to stamp their authority. Below, you will find the list of films released during the Independence Day weekend and the one or two films, that turned out to be successful have all been surprise darkhorse winners.

2013 - Aadhalal Kadhal Seiveer & Thalaivaa (was supposed to release on the 9th of August, 2013 but was pushed to the 20th of August for various reasons.)

2014 - Anjaan & Kathai Thiraikathai Vasanam Iyakkam
