The trailer review of Visaaranai (aka) Visaranai, directed by Vetri Maaran with Attakathi Dinesh and

Vetri Maaran brings the chill, fear and dread

Mar 27, 2015

After his Aadukalam in 2011, the National Award winning director Vetri Maaran is back with his third directorial Visaaranai, and the trailer which was released yesterday speaks strict business and is a clear indication of what to expect from the film.

Visaaranai is funded by Wunderbar Films and Grassroot Film Company of Dhanush and Vetri Maaran respectively, and the trailer starts with a tribute to the late editor Kishore who has handled the cuts here.

The hard-hitting trailer begins with a scene at a police station where a group of men are subjected to a third degree interrogation for apparently a serious offence that appears to have a few bigwigs involved. There is a hardnosed and ruthless cop who forces the group to accept a crime and there appears to be a conflict in heeding to him, in the group that has Attakathi Dinesh, Aadukalam Murugadoss among others.

The grim and chilling mood of the trailer is very well brought out by Ramalingam’s camera work with G V Prakash’s BGM working in tandem.

The quick moving frames showcase fear, brutality and hopelessness and the trailer sure is serious, raw, intense and world-class. Going by Vetri Maaran’s record, it would not be a surprise, if the director brings home many national and international awards. The film is geared up to hit the screens soon.
