LEGEND 2015

Sathyabama University is to host the ‘LEGEND 2015’. The event is organized by the department of Visual Communication. LEGEND 2015 will be held in the University on the dates of 14^th, 15^th and 16^th of September. The scenario of the event is to showcase the talents of young filmmakers and let them gain a lot of knowledge from the experienced media people.

The first day will have director S.P. Jhananathan, Manikandan and Om Prakash (Cinematographer) as the chief guests. This will be an interactive session and the directors will share their experiences in filmmaking. The final session of the first day will be handled by Om Prakash, the cinematographer of Anegan, Maari and the recent Yatchan. He will deal with the various techniques used in cinematography.

The second day will begin with the session of Srinivas Mohan, the VFX supervisor of the record breaking high budget movie, ‘Baahubali-The beginning’. In his session, he will talk about the scope for VFX in the film industry. He will be followed by Pritham Chakaravarthy, a theatrical artist. She will conduct a workshop on Film Appreciation which includes from filmmaking, scripting  to marketing. She is also a visiting faculty in the LV Prasad TV Academy. The last session of the second day will be taken over by Rathika Ramasamy, the first Indian woman wildlife photographer. She will display her photographs and guide the budding photography minds to cover up a vast knowledge in Wildlife Photography.

Ravi Kumar, director of Indru Netru Naalai, will lead the final day’s session. He will share his knowledge about filmmaking and how to create stories. Next to his session, the short films done by the participants, who are at the beginning stage of their career, will be screened. Radha Mohan, director of super hit Tamil movies, Abhiyum Naanum, Mozhi, Payanam will judge the movies that will be screened.
