Rahul Madhav, who essayed the character of a police officer named Jana in Thani Oruvan, is a known name in Malayalam films and his filmography includes Bangkok summer, Vaadamalli, Memories, 100 days of Love, Medulla Oblongata to name some and Adhae Neram Adhae Idam and Yugam in Tamil.

Rahul is excited about the response Thani Oruvan is getting and also the positive words for his performance. In an exclusive chat with behindwoods, Rahul shares his experiences in the film.  

The team

“Through a mutual friend, I was introduced to Raja sir and that’s how I got into the project. It would definitely sound clichéd but I can’t help saying that it was wonderful working with the team of Thani Oruvan. Raja sir, Ravi sir and Mohan sir treated me well and made me feel comfortable. And they did this not just with me but with the entire team. It was one big family. Ravi is so positive, affectionate, genuine and extremely supportive”.

Shooting

“I had worked in Thani Oruvan for 125 days in a span of one and a half years. I had fun working for the film. There was absolutely no pressure shooting.  I felt as though I knew the team for a long time”.

Arvind Swami

“I had seen his Roja and other films but when I saw him in person for the first time, I was awed. He is tall, super cool, very knowledgeable, can talk anything under the Sun. Beyond all these, he is a wonderful human being. That’s what makes him stand apart. I am fortunate to have worked with these people”.

The crucial scene

“I was not tensed but was majorly excited and was more looking forward to being in the scene with Arvind Swami. If I get any appreciation for my performance in Thani Oruvan, the credit should go to Raja sir only as I basically followed his instructions. I have to mention Raja sir’s associate, Subburaman here, as he was a great help and helped me in the scene a lot. He was one more reason that I am a part of this film”.
