Opting for Superstar’s yesteryear films' titles is a common trend employed by current film-makers to widen the market and reception for their films. This time it is Jiiva, who goes on to choose one of the popular Rajini titles, ‘Pokkiri Raja’, for his film with director Ramprakash Rayappa where Hansika is the lady lead. 

Not to forget Megastar Mammootty's 2010 Malayalam commercial entertainer 'Pokkiri Raja' , that also took its tour around the country as dubbed and remake ventures.

The title adds value and hints many things about the genre of the script. It also seems to strengthen the audience base for the film, much prior to its release, with all the Superstar connect.

The team is braced up to go on floors from tomorrow, September 2nd in a location situated at Ambattur, Chennai. The first schedule is reported to be a week long one. Harris Jayaraj scores the music for this project. It must be noted that Jiiva also has films like Thirunaal, Kavalai Vendaam in his kitty.
