Rajini's style guru is turning 76 today !

Alexander known by his alternate name J. Mahendran was primarily a story writer but later went on to direct pathbreaking films like Mullum Malarum, Johnny with Rajinikanth and earned three national awards for Nenjathai Killathe.

 

He was known for his craftsmanship to weave sensitive issues along with mainstream films. He was also responsible for bringing the long-lost actor in Rajini when he was busy being a hero on a streak of commercial films. The Superstar even confessed at a rare interview that, "Every style of mine is just a mere imitation of what Mahendran sir does".
