Kamal's dream, Marudhanayagam will resume !

When a Kamal project gets dropped, it is definitely because of the limitations on the budget and other logistics. Marudhanayagam is one such movie that got stalled for some unavoidable reasons.

The movie's stills are still famous in the online space. The ambitious pet project is written by Kamal and Sujatha, and will be directed by the Ulaganayagan himself. The long delayed film had a high profile launch by Queen Elizabeth in the year 1997.

Stalwarts like Vishnuvardhan, Sathyaraj, Nassar, Amrish Puri and Pasupathy were reported to play important roles with Ravi K Chandran cranking the camera and Ilayaraja scoring the music. The first 30 minutes of the content has already been shot.

Now the breaking news is, Marudhanayagam will resume! Kamal is said to have found a financier from London to start the film again. This was the day, all the ardent Kamal followers and film lovers were waiting for.

When Kamal so badly wanted to make a historical film, it was Sujatha's decision to go ahead with a story on Marudhanayagam, who later became Muhammed Yusuf Khan. Marudhanayagam is also the first Indian film to have used a computer to co-write the script.

This film is the pride of our nation and if it's coming back to bring us glory, let's wait for it !
