Actor Sanjay Dutt’s conviction in the Bombay blast case has been upheld by the Supreme Court today. He has been sentenced to 5 years in jail, 18 months of which he has already served. He was first arrested in 1993 soon after the bomb blasts as the police found him in possession of arms that belonged to the perpetrators.

He was granted interim relief in 2006 but was sent to jail in 2007 for a brief stint. Bollywood will definitely carry a gloom on this latest development as Sanjay Dutt enjoys an amicable relationship with many in the industry.

Likewise the producers of his current projects too will suffer a big blow. At the moment Sanjay Dutt is part of Zanjeer, Peekay (PK) and K.S. Ravikumar’s Policegiri.
