Rajini's Sivaji was the first, Vijay's Thalaivaa will be the next!

Jun 12, 2013

Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s Thalaivaa received an unprecedented technical boost with the announcement earlier today that the film will be released in the immersive Dolby Atmos sound. The technology was first implemented in Tamil cinema for Superstar Rajinikanth’s Sivaji 3D and now Vijay’s film will be using the same to enhance the viewing experience for the audience. Kamal Haasan’s Vishwaroopam used a similar technology, called the Auro 3D, earlier this year.

The announcement came from the camp of Dolby that was happy to be associated with a title such as Thalaivaa. They believe that the Dolby Atmos technology will provide a dynamic, dramatic, natural and realistic viewing experience for the audience. Dolby has tied up with Sathyam Cinemas to install this technology in 37 screens across its various theatres. The total migration is expected to be complete by the end of this year.
