Madhuri Dixit who ruled the Bollywood in the 80s and 90s lost her father Shankar Dixit yesterday, 13^th September 2013 in Mumbai.  Mr. Shankar Dixit was 91 and has been ill for a while.

Madhuri who took a temporary retirement from her career after her marriage to Dr Sriram Nene in 1999 was in the USA for many years and then moved back to India with her husband and sons in 2011. After her return to Mumbai, she was seen in television shows and is currently featuring in the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhla Jha.

While talking to the media about her dad’s demise, Madhuri said that he had led a full life and thanked all those who offered their prayers and condolences. Behindwoods offers its heartfelt condolences to the actress and her family and prays for the departed soul to rest in peace.
