Lingusamy interested in Bollywood remake!

Feb 28, 2013

Neeraj Pandey’s latest film ‘Special 26’ has been termed as gripping as well as highly entertaining and with the film tasting good success, netting 61 crores since its release, there is little reason not to remake the film in South. Popular director Lingusamy who is also at the helm of affairs of his production company Tirupathi Brothers has indicated that he will be involved with the remake of Special 26.

Although the cast and crew is yet to be decided, it seems likely that Kajal Aggarwal will reprise her role in the Tamil remake as well. Neeraj Pandey’s first film ‘A Wednesday’ was made in Tamil as ‘Unnaipol Oruvan’ with Kamal Haasan in the lead and it will be interesting to see who will be cast in Akshay Kumar’s role. Meanwhile, Lingusamy is busy with the pre-production of his directorial venture involving Suriya and Samantha.

Special 26 is set in the 80s and is based on true incidents involving a group of con-men presenting themselves as CBI officers.
